Reading

The picture above is all the books that I read over November and December and below I will do a breakdown of what I read in each month and pick only my favourites which are predominantly four and five-star reads. If you have read any of the books mentioned click on the link to take you to my full review and leave a comment if you agree/disagree with my review and let me know your thoughts. I had already hit my reading goals so my reading for the last two months are always crammed full of the books I want to read before the end of the year. I read some great books so I hope you enjoy reading my favourites below.

It is also a RECAP of my favourite things over the two months and any highlights and recommendations this is going to be a shorter version than normal. Enjoy reading.

November 2024

Every Move you Make by C. L. Taylor

I loved this gripping and twisty story about a stalkers and a group of victims stalking their stalkers to get a piece of mind for their sanity and to live in piece. Interesting how it works out and also the ending of it.

The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood

One of my most read books because it is a favourite. First time listening to the audio and I have to say I preferred reading it rather than listening to it however I did enjoy and even though I know what happens I still was gripped by its ending. Check my review here- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2664048016

The Testaments by Margaret Atwood

Another re-read however I listened to the audio version of it and I really enjoyed it as it was recorded by the cast of the Hulu adaptation and Ann Dowd just does a steller job. I think also this book is very underrated and I just loved to listen to it and remind myself of why I loved this book in the first place. Read my full review of it here- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2974662627

Say You’ll Be My Jaan by Naina Kumar

I love desi reads and this was brilliant. A fake dating trope kind of enemies to lovers and this was really good to read and funny and comedic but also lighthearted and sweet.

December 2024

Much Ado About Nada by Uzma Jalaluddin

A five star read and something which I thought I was going to hate. There was a lot going on in this book however it all ties up quite nicely. You root for the characters and it is not just a typical love story romance book and to see my full thoughts on it read my review here. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5279031538

Silent Sister by Megan Davidhizar

Two sisters on a school trip what could go wrong? Apparently everything. Very cleverly written and with the before and afters it hooks you in as a whodunit and the ending leaves you broken. Read my review here- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/7033064052

Leave the World Behind by Rumaan Alam

Not a lot to say in terms of plot however it just drops certain lines in the book that makes you stop and think. The characters, the location, the tension. It is also a powerful message about how we live in today’s age. I also want to watch the Netflix adaptation of it. Read my review here- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/7054027703

A Secret Garden Affair by Erica James

I love Erica James and this perhaps wasn’t one of my favourite books of hers, however it was a really interesting and enjoyable book to read. Set after the world war and follows three characters and how the past and present are met with each other. Review here- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/7083721741

The Replacement by Melanie Golding

When you read a thriller where a child goes missing you don’t know what direction the author will take. This was a very powerful and compelling narrative in which a child goes missing for her safety rather than neglect. So clever and deeply shocking and disturbing but a readable book.

When I was Ten by Fiona Collins

Another dark, disturbing and psychotic book but one that is very emotional. It follows three p.o.v’s and a before and after where children kill their parents. It is such an interesting book in terms of morality and has you being empathetic to the characters but it is also such a mind bending book full of twists and turns and the ending has you on the end of your seat but jumping for joy at the same time. Read my review here- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/7117337381

Tiny Pretty Things by Dhonielle Clayton and Sona Charaipotra

I actually watched the Netflix version of this before I read the book. They both were amazing and the Netflix version was different in terms of character names and had a slightly different version of events that what took place in the book. Nevertheless it was still such an enjoyable and page turning book because of the cut-throat business that ballet is. There is drama, drama, drama and of course a lot of ballet. Really looking forward to reading the sequel.

Ending

This is the last RECAP and my 12th recap. I loved doing these recaps they were fun to write and read back on. Preparation

Like many of you, I have created a vision board, written out my goals and done all the new year preparation but I think the more daunting thing is what happens after that. I want to achieve everything on my vision board and it doesn’t work without doing so I am looking forward to taking action and achieving my goals by doing. There will be many setbacks and highs and lows however I think this year is the year where we achieve all of our goals. Comment below on your new year goals and the systems you have put in place to achieve those goals. Let’s keep ourselves accountable and this time next year we will have achieved the goals that we set at the start of the year.

That is my November and December RECAP wrap-up complete. My final one. It is a little emotional. I have enjoyed giving you little snippets of my months and I hope you have enjoyed reading about it.
